Meet WESA; Friends of Polokwane Nature Reserve

April 13, 2021

The Polokwane Nature Reserve was established many years ago by Senator Tom Naude.
It is an absolute gem, the worth of which we seldom realise.
For instance, did you know that it is home to a bird species which only occurs in one other place in the world? Birding enthusiasts travel from afar to see it here in our Nature Reserve.
Unfortunately though, the Reserve is slowly coming under threat for various reasons.
The “WESA Friends of Polokwane Nature Reserve” group was established in 2019 to become pro-actively involved in the preservation of the reserve.
Lisa Grosel, chairman of the group, makes a passionate plea for people to join the group and explains why, and how you can become involved.
